Itinerary
DAY-1: Kathgodam – Dharchula (295 km)
Arrive at Kathgodam in the morning for a scenic full-day drive to Dharchula, passing through Bhimtal, Almora, and Pithoragarh. Enjoy stunning views of Himalayan peaks, deep gorges, and remote villages along the way. Dharchula, a historic trade route between India and Nepal, sits by the Kali River amidst snow-capped peaks. Overnight stay in a local homestay.
DAY-2: Dharchula / Dhar / Urthing ( Drive 2hrs + trek 04 hrs)
Drive 3 hours from Dharchula to Dar, the last road head in Darma Valley, passing Tawaghat and New Sobla. Trek 3-4 hours through Bongling Forest along a narrow cliff edge with the Dhauliganga River below. Follow rocky paths and gentle climbs to reach Urthing campsite. Overnight in tents.
DAY-3: Urthing - Nagling ( trek 10 km, 04 hrs)
Enjoy an easy walk with gentle ascents and descents from Urthing to Naagling. Follow a mule track through lush hillsides with the Dhauli Ganga below. Cross a suspension bridge to reach Sela campsite, set on a green riverside meadow. Overnight in tents.
DAY-4: Nagling - Son (11 km, 5 hrs)
The trail to Naagling starts with a rocky 3 km stretch before entering coniferous forests of oak and birch. Enjoy views of Nagling’s meadow, distant glaciers, and the Himalayas. A 3 km walk leads to Baaling, followed by the scenic, mostly uninhabited Son village. Overnight in camps.
DAY-5: Son - Panchachuli Base Camp ( 05 km)
Trek to the base camp through Dantu Bugyals, with forests on one side and the Meola River on the other. Enjoy wildflowers, strawberries, and breathtaking views of glaciers and towering peaks. Retrace your steps to Naagling for an overnight stay.
DAY-6: Panchachuli base camp - Nagling (16 km)
In the morning, trek down to Nagling. The trek is easy downwards. Dinner and overnight stay in tents.
DAY-7: Nagling - Urthing
In the morning, you will trek down to Urthing from Nagling. Stay overnight in Urthing.
DAY-8: Urthing – Dharchula
On the last day of the trek, walk from Urthing to Sobla first and then get a drive to Dharchula. Stay overnight in Dharchula.
DAY-9: Dharchula – Kathgodam
Get a drive down to Kathgodam.
